A 750 metri sul livello del mare, direttamente sopra Trapani. Fondato dagli Elimi nel VIII secolo a.C., conservato quasi intatto nel suo aspetto medievale: strade acciottolate, muri di pietra, cortili nascosti. Il Castello di Venere domina la vetta, le genovesi ericine dominano le pasticcerie, e la vista spazia dalle Egadi all'Etna nelle giornate limpide.
At 750 meters above sea level, directly above Trapani. Founded by the Elymians in the 8th century BC, preserved almost intact in its medieval appearance: cobblestone streets, stone walls, hidden courtyards. The Castle of Venus crowns the summit, the genovesi pastries reign in the bakeries, and on clear days the view stretches from the Egadi Islands to Mount Etna.

La funivia parte dalla stazione a valle di Trapani e sale fino a Erice Vetta in 10 minuti con panorama su tutta Trapani, le saline e le Egadi. €11 andata e ritorno. Orari: lun 14-20, mar-gio 8:30-20, ven-dom 10-23 (verificare su funiviaerice.it). Da Trapani centro: bus linea 21 o 23 fino alla stazione funivia.
The cable car departs from the valley station in Trapani and climbs to Erice summit in 10 minutes with views over all of Trapani, the salt flats and the Egadi Islands. €11 round trip. Hours: Mon 2-8 PM, Tue-Thu 8:30 AM-8 PM, Fri-Sun 10 AM-11 PM (check funiviaerice.it). From Trapani center: bus line 21 or 23 to the cable car station.
La SP31 parte dalla stazione funivia e sale con tornanti fino alla vetta. Circa 20 minuti. Diversi parcheggi in zona: Porta Trapani (il più vicino al centro), Porta Spada (meno affollato). In alta stagione arrivare presto — i parcheggi si riempiono.
The SP31 starts from the cable car station and climbs with switchbacks to the summit. About 20 minutes. Several parking areas: Porta Trapani (closest to center), Porta Spada (less crowded). In peak season arrive early — parking fills up.

Per chi vuole guadagnarsi la vista. Il sentiero parte da Martogna e arriva alla stazione funivia di Erice. Circa 2 ore e mezza in salita. Consigliato in primavera e autunno — d'estate fa troppo caldo. Portare acqua, scarpe da trekking, protezione solare.
For those who want to earn the view. The trail starts from Martogna and ends at Erice cable car station. About 2.5 hours uphill. Recommended in spring and autumn — too hot in summer. Bring water, hiking shoes, sun protection.

Erice's main church, built in the 14th century under Frederick III of Aragon using materials from the Temple of Venus. Bell tower with panoramic views. Inside, the Cathedral Treasury holds one of Sicily's finest silver collections. Open 10 AM–6 PM.
La cinta muraria più antica di Erice, costruita dagli Elimi nell'VIII secolo a.C. e rinforzata dai Punici. Blocchi di pietra enormi, torri di guardia, iscrizioni puniche ancora visibili. Il tratto meglio conservato è vicino a Porta Trapani — non serve biglietto, basta camminare lungo le mura.
Erice's oldest fortification, built by the Elymians in the 8th century BC and reinforced by the Carthaginians. Enormous stone blocks, watchtowers, Punic inscriptions still visible. The best-preserved stretch is near Porta Trapani — no ticket needed, just walk along the walls.

La pasticceria ericina nasce nei conventi di clausura. Le suore producevano dolci a base di mandorle per sostenersi. Le genovesi — sfoglia croccante con crema pasticcera al limone — sono il simbolo di Erice. Mangiale calde, appena sfornate.
Erice's pastry tradition was born in cloistered convents. The nuns made almond-based sweets for sustenance. The genovesi — crispy shortcrust with lemon custard — are Erice's symbol. Eat them warm, fresh from the oven.
